Evaluations Coordinator

The Evaluations Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the player evaluation (tryout) process for the SoCal youth basketball league. This role ensures evaluations run smoothly, are fair and consistent, and that all necessary personnel, equipment, and communication are in place.

The Coordinator is provided with a step-by-step timeline outlining all required tasks and deadlines.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation Planning & Scheduling
    • Work with the executive board to finalize evaluation (tryout) dates and time slots for each age group
    • Communicate confirmed evaluation schedules to Age Group Coordinators in a timely manner
  • Evaluator Coordination
    • Recruit and secure a sufficient number of qualified evaluators for each age group and evaluation time slot
    • Provide evaluators with clear instructions on the evaluation process, expectations, and criteria prior to evaluations
  • Evaluation Setup & Logistics
    • Ensure all required equipment, materials, and paperwork are prepared and available for each evaluation session
    • Coordinate setup requirements to support efficient check-in and on-court evaluations
  • Evaluation Oversight & Team Placement
    • Work closely with Age Group Coordinators during and after evaluations to ensure player placement is accurate and appropriate
    • Support coordinators and evaluators in resolving questions or concerns related to evaluations and team formation
